Rangeet Majuwa

Rangeet Majua is a hidden beautiful East-Himalayan village by the river Sawaji khola & surrounded by Singalila Forest range, with unhurt flora & fauna and a fully pollution free environment. The village is located on the way to Bijanbari from Manebhanjan and distances about 6 kms from Manebhanjan. Mesmerizing Darjeeling situated about 28 kms and it will take around an hour to reach Rangeet Majuwa from Darjeeling.

It is one of the offbeat tourist destinations in North Bengal around Darjeeling. Rangeet Majua situated at an altitude of 5000 ft. and around 6 km away from Maneybhanjyang on Indo-Nepal border. It rests on the lap of Mother Nature on the bank of Sawaji Khola – a tributary to the Rangeet River. Rangeet Majua or Majua village is ideal for those who want to enjoy the solitude, calm and peaceful environment with soothing chirps of birds and the magical dance of verities of butterflies.

Accommodation in Rangeet Majuwa

Want to spend one or two days within fresh nature beside misty sound of the river? Then come to Rangeet Majuwa (sometimes Rangit Majua), there are three cottages, two double bedded rooms and two four bedded dormitory. One stone made cottage has common lobby and dining room and another two is wood-bark cottages. There is tree house with two single beds. The surrounding garden gets greenery throughout the year due to irrigating from river water by using. Tariff starts from Rs.1350 from Rs.1600  full board (AP Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) depending on room type. Drop and pick-up charges Rs.3000 – Rs.3500 depending on vehicle type from Siliguri/NJP.

Communication

Nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) and nearest airport is Bagdogra (IXB), direct car/taxis are available from NJP and Siliguri and distance around 80 kms from Siliguri. Keep in mind when hiring a car, because road condition is little bad after crossing Manebhanjan.

You also can reach Rangeet Majua from Darjeeling, it will take around an hour to reach. Shared transportation is available up to Ghoom.

Best Season to Visit Rangeet Majuwa

You can visit throughout the year, in winter there is a great view of Mt. Kanchenjunga.
