Jayanti
Jayanti is a small hilly village in the lap of Bhutan hill, a must visit destination of Dooars region in North Bengal and famous for its natural beauty. The main attractions of Jayanti are wild natural beauty, Bala River and Jayanti River. These rivers became fearsome in monsoon and stay narrowed in rest of the year. The wavy view of Bhutan hill from Jayanti is just fabulous.
The relics of Railway Bridge in the river bed is another remarkable point of interest in Jayanti, the bridge was built in British period (1915). This bridge was used to taken dolomite to industrial area from Himalaya, but now only iron structure is there, entire bridge was ruined in flood. Take a short (around 4 K.M) trek to Choto Mahakal (Small Mahakal) Temple/cave through thrilling road, this road has been raised to Boro Mahakal (Big Mahakal) temple/cave, and then Sotipith toward Jayanti. Take another around 2 K.M trek to Pokhori, a transparent and natural water lake in Pukhri hilltop. The trek is moderate but with few stiff parts.

Nearest railway station is Rajabhatkhaowa (RVK), only local and few passenger trains from New Jalpaiguri (NJP) have stoppage at RVK. New Alipurduar (NOQ) is nearest major railway station and well connected with rest of India. Numbers of trains are running daily to and from New Alipurduar (NOQ), like KANCHANJANGA Express, GUWAHATI Express, TESTA-TORSA Express, SARAIGHAT Express etc. Jayanti situated on 26 K.M away from New Alipurduar, cars and auto rickshaws are available from station to Jayanti. Nearest airport is Bagdogra airport (IXB), distance from Jayanti around 201 K.M.
Best Season to Visit Jayanti
Jayanti can be visited throughout the year, entire forest remain closed in rainy season ( From 16th June to 15th September ).
