Thimphu 2N – Wangdue / Punakha 2N – Bumthang 3N – Paro 3N
Day 01: Paro Airport – Thimphu (65 kms / 2 hrs)
Meet & Greet on arrival at Paro Airport and transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.) the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay will be at Thimphu.
Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast visit King’s Memorial Chorten (Monument), Changangkha Monastery, National Zoo (Contains National Animal Takin), National Library, BBS Tower, Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Museum, School of Arts and Crafts, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Traditional Paper Factory (made from Daphne plant). Overnight stay will be at Thimphu.
Day 03: Thimphu – Punakha / Wangdue (77 kms / 3 hrs) Sightseeing
After breakfast drive to Punakha / Wangdue Phodrang (4,300 ft.), via Dochu-La-Pass (10,170 ft.). Continue towards Punakha visit Chimi Lhakhang – The Temple of Fertility built in 15th century. Also visit Punakha Dzong. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay will be at Punakha / Wangdue.
Day 04: Punakha / Wangdue – Bumthang (212 kms / 8 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Wangue Phodrang, visiting Dzong & local market. It’s famous for Bamboo product, Slate & Stone carving. Drive further across Pele-La-Pass (11.120 ft.), traditional boundary between east & west Bhutan. There is an adrupt change in vegetation, with mountain forest replaced by high altitude dwarf bamboo. Stop Enroute Chendbji Chorten. Further ahead visit Trongsa Dzong – it was the seat of power over central & eastern Bhutan. Then drive further to Bumthang over the Yutong-La-Pass (11,155 ft.). On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay will be at Bumthang.
Day 05: Bumthang Sightseeing
Bumthang is the general name given to combination of four valleys – Chumey, Choekhor, Tang & Ura. These valleys produced honey, cheese, apples & yathra (woolen colourful material). After breakfast visit Jambey Lhakhang, Kurje Lhakhang and Tamsing Monastery. Also visit the Jakar Dzong & Mebar Tsho (Lake of Burning Fire). Back to hotel. Overnight stay will be at Bumthang.
Day 06: Excursion to Ura Village (2 Hrs)
After breakfast start for excursion to Ura village and visit the new Ura monastery. On the way visit the Mebartso – The burning lake. Stroll around the village and return back to Guest house. Evening walk to the Swiss farm where apple juice, cider, cheese etc are made. Back to hotel. Overnight stay will be at Bumthang.
Day 07: Bumthang – Punakha / Wangdue (212 kms / 8 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Punakha / Wangdue. Reach Punakha by late afternoon. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay will be at Punakha / Wangdue.
Day 08: Punakha / Wangdue – Paro (140 kms / 5 hrs) Sightseeing
After breakfast transfer to Paro (7,483 ft.). On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit Ta Dzong – National Museum with an excellent collection of Bhutanese antiquities. Rinpung Dzong – the administrative seat of the district of Paro. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay will be at Paro.
Day 09: Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast visit Drukgyel Dzong. Also visit famous Taktsang Monastery – called “Tiger’s Nest” (2hrs hike from the base camp) & Kitchu Monastery. Overnight stay will be at Paro.
Day 10: Excursion to Chele-La-Pass
After breakfast drive to Chele-La-Pass (13,088 ft.) – the highest motor able road in Bhutan. Enjoy the scenic beauty & memorable landscapes from Chele-La-Pass. Back to Paro. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Paro.
Day 11: Paro Airport
After breakfast check out from hotel and drop at Paro Airport for your onward journey.
